Shazam iPhone update brings simplification

An update to the Shazam app for iPhone this week adds a bit more content-led action to the ecosystem while the entire layout earns a much more simplified look. This update to the system is part of what the Chief Product Officer at Shazam, Daniel Danker, suggests makes Shazam much more in-tune with its goals: simplicity in design and consumer experience. In other words - Shazam doesn't do one whole heck of a lot more between yesterday and today, but it's a lot easier to understand what it does do.

Shazam hits Windows Phone 8 with Xbox Music support and Live Tiles

Shazam has launched its first app for Windows Phone, with the new software supporting unlimited tagging as well as integration with Xbox Music and Nokia Music. The Windows Phone 8 app can identify songs playing around the phone and flag up artist, track name, and album; they can then jump over into Xbox Music and buy the track, or alternatively - if they're using a Lumia - Nokia Music to get the song.

Shazam adds auto-tagging: Always listening to your music and TV

Shazam has revamped its iOS app with the iPad getting the spoils, including an auto-tagging feature that constantly keeps a digital ear open to recognize any music playing nearby. Spotify and Shazam have teamed up to make identifying and then listening to new tracks more straightforward, with integration between the mobile clients on iOS and Android.
