Xbox One To Launch In China This September

This evening, a tip surfaced from unnamed sources claiming the Xbox One will go on sale in China this coming September, something Microsoft (apparently inadvertently) confirmed via a video about the news on the official Xbox YouTube Channel.

Unfortunately, the video has since been made private, and so those who didn't get a look at it will no longer be able to. In it, Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi discussed bringing the console to China — something said by sources to be slated for an official announcement as early as tonight.

Said Microsoft's CVP of Device and Studios Yusuf Mehdi, "In China, there are over half a billion gamers, so the opportunity to create globally and locally created content to delight millions and millions of of gaming families everywhere is something that we're really passionate about."

The news isn't surprising. Following multiple reports throughout last year, confirmation finally surfaced earlier this year that a temporary ban lift on consoles would go into effect for devices made in Shanghai's free trade zone.
