Xbox Games With Gold For February Keep The Star Wars Train Rolling
In recent months, it's seemed that many Games with Gold lineups have included a Star Wars game of some type. The lineup for February will be no different in that regard, only this time, we're reaching all the way back to the original Xbox for our Star Wars title. Arguably the headliner of February's Games with Gold, Xbox One and Xbox 360 users will be able to download the very first Star Wars: Battlefront game.Battlefront is a series that got its start way back in 2004. We've since seen the series rebooted by EA and DICE, but the first two Battlefront games are still worth playing today. While 2005's Battlefront 2 seems to get the lion's share of attention from Star Wars fans, the original Battlefront is still a very good game in its own right, too.
Star Wars: Battlefront will be joined by an interesting collection of games. On the Xbox One side of things, we'll have free copies of TT Isle of Man and Call of Cthulhu on tap, which are two very different games. TT Isle of Man is a motorcycle racing game that will take us to the 37.73-mile long Snaefell Mountain course, while Call of Cthulhu is a survival horror RPG based on the pen-and-paper game of the same name.
Xbox 360 owners, in addition to being able to download Star Wars: Battlefront, can also snag Fable Heroes for free next month. Fable Heroes represented a pretty big departure for the Fable series and, along with Fable: The Journey for Kinect, was one of the last games Lionhead Studios made before it was shut down in 2016.
TT Isle of Man will be available to Xbox One users from February 1st to the 29th, while Call of Cthulhu will be free from February 16th to March 15th. Fable Heroes will be heading up the first half of the month, going free from February 1st to the 15th and Star Wars: Battlefront will close it out from February 16th to the 29th. As always, Xbox One players have the option of downloading all four games, as Fable Heroes and Star Wars: Battlefront are backwards compatible.
