VUDU Extends HD On-Demand Service To LG Blu-Ray Players
VUDU has appeared at least a few times here, and it looks like they just couldn't wait to do it again. And while VUDU isn't a stranger to LG products, it looks like a particular Blu-Ray player is set to get the On-Demand love right now. The LG BD390 is no longer bound by physical media only, as it will soon be able to reach out to VUDU's huge digital market, and pull down from more than 2,000 available titles, right there on the spot.
"Our goal as a company is to offer the best possible HD movie service to the broadest possible audience," said Alain Rossmann, CEO of VUDU. "By adding the top-rated LG BD390 Blu-ray player to the lineup of VUDU-enabled products, we've made it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the VUDU experience."
VUDU promotes some hefty features to their service, like instant viewing, where there is no problem with buffering or other delays. Viewers can also fast forward and rewind whenever they want, as well as browse chapters. VUDU delivers its videos with a unique HDX format, which delivers true 1080p resolution. VUDU is also the only on-demand service to offer Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound.
But what's huge, is the fact that there is no monthly subscription fees, along with purchasing movies, or renting them. Plus, they have the largest HD movie database available, with now over 2,200 titles available, in HD or HDX formatting. New releases are also available the same day as their physical counterparts, which means we are getting closer and closer to not having to venture into our favorite electronics stores. The LG BD390 is available right now, in retailers nationwide, for an estimated price of $399, but the VUDU connectivity will be available later this month via a free upgrade.
