Verizon FiOS Mobile App Gets 16 New Channels For Out Of Home Streaming
Verizon has announced the addition of 16 new channels to its home streaming app called the FiOS Mobile App. With the addition of the 16 new channels, the app now gives FiOS subscribers access to 25 different channels on the go. The application is available as a free download for subscribers.
The new channels available on the FiOS Mobile App include AXS TV, beIN SPORT, beIN SPORT Espanol, Bloomberg Television, Cine Sony Television, Cooking Channel, ENCORE, FEARnet, NFL RedZone (tablet only), SHOWTIME®, SHOWTIME EXTREME®, Sony Movie Channel, STARZ, Trinity Broadcast, Universal Sports and TVGN (TV Guide Network). The app is available for the iPhone, iPad, some Android tablets, and the Kindle Fire.
The 16 new channels go into the line with the previously available channels that include BBC America, BBC World News, EPIX, HGTV, Travel Channel, NFL Network (tablet only), Food Network, DIY Network and Tennis Channel. Access to the channels does depend on the current package of FiOS channels the person subscribes to in the home.
The FiOS mobile app does include access to movies in addition to the live channel broadcasts. There are 45000 on demand movie titles available. The app also offers TV listings, bookmarks, a library, DVR, and more. Parents can also block content their child is able to access.
