Umbrella DAP Stops You From Getting Wet, Plays Wet Wet Wet
There are few things in the world more depressing than standing in the rain with an umbrella. Okay, so that's a fatuous statement; obviously having your family slaughtered by giant space-rats would lead to a far deeper level of misery, but this is an article about a music-playing umbrella and not some sort of hyperdrive mousetrap so deal with it, okay? Since my build-up is ruined, let's cut to the chase (yes, that's right, the sort of chase your family would be part of after the space-rats land and hunt them through the forests): this umbrella not only serves as a rain/your head barrier but plays your favourite tunes while it does it.
Control of the music is managed by twisting and turning the gyroscopic handle which, following the edict that anything vaguely motion sensitive must be related in some way to Nintendo's latest console, responds to movement just like a Wiimote. Opening the umbrella turns on the music, while closing it traps your head unless you're clever enough to step clear.
"Music in the Rain", as this concept is called, was designed by sdesignunit, and dates back to 2005 (when the world was a shinier place and we were all a little more innocent).
