Titanfall: Frontline Mobile Game Has Been Cancelled

Back in September, Respawn Entertainment announced the then-upcoming mobile game based on Titanfall, Titanfall: Frontline. The game was promised for iOS and Android, and would have been a card game rather than something resembling the console titles. The game did make it to the point of a beta, but it has all been for naught: Titanfall: Frontline has been cancelled.

The cancellation notice was recently published on the Titanfall: Frontline website, where the team behind it explained that ultimately the gameplay was too lacking compared to the original titles. "We've learned an incredible amount in the beta test of Titanfall: Frontline, but in the end felt the experience wasn't ready to deliver the intense action-packed gameplay synonymous with Titanfall," the notice reads.

While the game itself isn't going to happen, the team does hint that we may see a different Titanfall game in the future. The notice says that some concepts learned from the development of this game may be built into "future Titanfall mobile games."

If you're currently playing the Titanfall: Frontline beta, you can expect to see it "winding down" over the weekend and the few days after that. The services will go completely dark on January 20, marking its final end. Can't get enough Titanfall? Hit up the timeline below for more news!
