The CW's Batwoman Trailer Arrives With Release Date And Plot Details
The previously announced Batwoman series featuring Ruby Rose has received its first trailer. The CW, the network where the show will air, debuted the trailer alongside the announcement of its Fall 2019 – 2020 television schedule. Batwoman will join the last season of hit CW series Supernatural, as well as the return of superhero shows The Flash and Arrow.
The CW previously announced plans to launch a new Batwoman series amid its success with The Flash, which arrived in 2014, and Arrow, which debuted a couple years earlier in 2012. As with those shows, Batwoman will offer a modern take on a classic character, giving audiences their chance to experience the story from a modern perspective.
The show's first trailer introduces us to the general storyline behind Rose's character, as well as the wider cast, and hints at a couple tense sub-plots. At three minutes in length, the trailer is more than a teaser, but it'll be months before we get our first proper look at the show.
According to the CW, Batwoman will air on Sunday nights from 8PM to 9PM in the ET and PT time slots followed by Supergirl in the hour after that. This is compared to The Flash, which will air on Tuesdays at 8PM to 9PM followed by Arrow in the hour after.
The network revealed that Batwoman will follow three years after Batman disappears; as shown in the trailer, Rose's character Kate Kane will discover Batman's secret, receive a modified suit, and take over the role of Caped Crusader, Gotham's themed vigilante. The first episode will air as a crossover with The Flash on December 9.
