T-Mobile USA Grabs BlackBerry Bold 9900 4G

T-Mobile USA has become the first US carrier to announce it will be offering the freshly launched BlackBerry Bold 9900. The handset will be T-Mobile's first 4G-capable BlackBerry smartphone when it goes on sale later in 2011, offering HSPA+ support.

There'll also be WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and RIM's new BlackBerry 7 OS. The Bold 9900/9930 also packs NFC, though right now it's unclear what exactly RIM or T-Mobile will be doing with the technology. So far, all RIM has said is that compatible accessories will be able to pair with the new Bold simply by tapping them together.

We're also expecting a BlackBerry announcement by Verizon Wireless at some point, given the Bold 9930 has EVDO Rev.A connectivity (along with World Phone HSPA roaming support for outside of North America). More on the new Bold in our video hands-on.
