You Can Use WD-40 To Clean Cloudy Headlights & Taillights - Here's How
By ALVIN REYES
While there are many DIY methods for cleaning and restoring the clarity of plastic car headlights, one of the easiest solutions is using WD-40.
You will need the WD-40 Multi-Use Product, a few cotton or microfiber rags, and a water and car shampoo cleaning solution. It’s also recommended that you wash your car first.
Start with a clean surface. If it’s recently washed, dry the lights with a microfiber towel; otherwise, use a damp towel to wipe off any excess dirt or grime before proceeding.
Spray WD-40 on a dry towel and rub it lightly over each headlight in a left-to-right motion, concentrating on the severely yellowed or oxidized parts.
You can also spray the WD-40 directly on the headlights and taillights, let it sit for a few minutes, and wipe off the excess with a dry towel before buffing lightly.
Wash off the WD-40 residue with water and car shampoo. Then, use a sponge to remove all traces of WD-40, rinse with clean water, and wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.
