Xbox Series X: Essential Apps You Should Download On Your Console ASAP
By NATHAN P. GIBSON
Blu-ray Player
While the Xbox Series X is more than capable of playing Blu-ray discs, users will need to download the Blu-ray Player app from the Microsoft Store to use them.
The app provides all the features you'd expect from a traditional Blu-ray player, including the ability to fast-forward, rewind, skip chapters, and open advanced playback controls.
TrueAchievements
The Xbox 360 introduced Achievements in 2005. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide any real information about how to unlock specific ones.
Luckily, an app named TrueAchievements provides players with more information. It also gives detailed guides and video tutorials for unlocking Achievements in games.
Tubi TV
Tubi TV is a streaming service that offers users a library of more than 26,000 TV series and movies for free through advertisement rather than a subscription service.
The streaming platform promises to have fewer ads than you'd normally see on television and also features content not available elsewhere.
Home Remote
While users will have to pay a small one-time cost for the app, the Home Remote effectively turns the Xbox Series X|S into a media hub that can control multiple devices.
The app will let you control smart devices like Amazon's Alexa and Google's Home, as well as other household items like thermostats, lights, and refrigerators.
Twitch
Xbox consoles have supported Twitch to some degree for many years and offer one of the best solutions for those who want to watch content or stream their gameplay online.
Using the Twitch app, users can find any streamer on the service, watch their live broadcasts, and also share their own videos in their archives.
