Who Makes Costco’s Kirkland Brand Motor Oil, And Is It Any Good?
By MIKAEL TRENCH
Those shopping at Costco may have encountered the chain’s exclusive Kirkland Signature Synthetic Motor Oil and wondered how it compares to some of the best motor oil brands.
While the brand is excellent for a wide range of vehicles and meets oil standards set by API SN Plus and ILSAC GF-5, it’s not the best fit for Diesels or high-performance engines.
Costco is the primary retailer of Kirkland Signature Synthetic Motor Oil, but it’s not the manufacturer. Instead, the chain gets its products from Warren Oil.
Warren has a handful of retail brands, such as Lubriguard, but it is most well-known for providing various retailers with a wide range of greases, lubricants, and chemicals.
