What You Need To Know About The $10,000 Toyota Pickup Truck
By ELI SHAYOTOVICH
Standing for “Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle,” the Toyota IMV 0 is a low-cost multi-purpose pickup truck that’s as basic as a vehicle can get.
Designed specifically for Toyota’s customers in Thailand, the IMV 0 shares the same platform name as the Hilux truck and will be called the Hilux Champ in the country.
The IMV 0 can be customized with aftermarket add-ons and is available in short and long-wheelbase versions, with the base configuration having rear-wheel drive.
The truck lacks most “comfort” features, such as anti-lock brakes, airbags, or armrests. However, upgrades are available for nearly everything at an additional cost.
Thailand’s Champ will be available in two versions: one with a flatbed (MT-AT) with short-hinged sides and another with just the truck cab and no bed (the MT).
Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. claims that over 100 accessory manufacturers will provide customers with almost unlimited customization options, like a mobile clothes store.
