What Really Happened To American Choppers’ Paul Teutul Sr
By JOE CAPRARO
Paul Teutul Sr. rose to fame with the success of the reality TV series “American Chopper,” but even though the show has ended, he still hasn’t given up his passion for choppers.
After his reality TV days ended, Paul Sr. continued operating Orange County Choppers, but he was sued by his business partner Thomas Derbyshire in 2017.
In 2018, he filed for bankruptcy and moved to Florida, relocated Orange County Choppers to the Sunshine State, and in 2021, he opened the OCC Roadhouse and Museum in Clearwater.
But in 2018, the Miami Herald reported that several foreign investors had been scammed out of millions of dollars in a Ponzi scheme connected to the OCC Roadhouse.
Despite the legal speed bumps surrounding the project, Paul Sr. continues to operate the OCC Roadhouse in Clearwater as a combination restaurant, museum, and concert venue.
In 2023, Paul Sr. used the venue as the site for the first annual Orange County Choppers Invitational Bike Show and Biker Build-off Competition.
He also might be returning to the small screen, collaborating with Jesse James from “West Coast Choppers” and Billy Lane of “Monster Garage.”
This is according to a press release by Jesse James, which announced that he will launch a new online streaming network called Outlaw TV.
