8. C3 Corvette
The C3 Corvette trails the list of Corvette generations for the drastic decline in power output and performance caused by the malaise era from 1973 to 1983.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), created in 1970, and the Clean Air Act successfully improved the environment, but it hurt the cars created shortly after.
7. C1 Corvette
Although the first C1 Corvette, produced from 1953 to 1962, deserves recognition as the sleek progenitor of the Corvette line, its performance was subpar.
The underpowered 235-cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine and mediocre two-speed automatic transmission were enough to deter potential sportscar-hungry customers.
6. C2 Corvette
Made from 1963 to 1967, the C2 generation produced two of the most iconic Corvette models: the sleek Sting Ray and the powerful L88, but production for both cars was limited.
5. C4 Corvette
The disappointing run of C4 Corvettes from 1984 to 1996 can be attributed to subpar body designs, reliability issues, and overall less enjoyable driving experiences.
4. C5 Corvette
The C5 Corvette, produced from 1997 to 2004, was designed with the solicited requests of Corvette owners in mind, resulting in a more distinct look and overall higher part quality.
