Mustang Vs. Shelby Mustang: What’s The Actual Difference?

The iconic Ford Mustang began production in 1964, and just a year later, automotive designer Carroll Shelby started the Shelby Mustang line with the Shelby GT350.
With the racing legend's cachet behind it and GT in the name, the Shelby Mustang made a clear statement: this model was intended to be fast — very fast.
While the original Mustang offered a nice balance of power and practicality, the original Shelby Mustang’s primary focus was specs over aesthetics.
The Shelby Mustang was intended as a racing machine, and limited numbers of GT-350s were also built to drag race (13 of them in the model's first two years).
