How Long Do Tesla’s Model Y Batteries Actually Last?
By BRIAN MYERS
While concerns over battery lifespan and capacity have some who are interested in EVs holding off on buying one, Tesla's Model Y might just put their fears to rest.
According to Tesla, a Performance Model Y can expect an average of 303 miles on a full charge, while a Long-Range Model Y can get 330 miles on the same charge.
The automaker also explains on its website that it will cover the Model Y Long-Range and Performance variants' battery for eight years or 120,000 miles, whichever it reaches first.
However, current data suggests that owners can expect their Model Y's battery to last between 300,000 and 500,000 miles before it needs to be replaced.
