Here's The Reason You Should Be Using Silk Browser On Amazon Fire TV
By ASHER CANTRELL
While Amazon Fire TV users can download different web browsers on the device, the company’s proprietary option, Silk, has several advantages over the others.
Fire TV usually runs on lower-end hardware, such as a Fire TV Stick, causing most third-party browsers to struggle with running out of resources.
However, Silk is meant to work with Fire TV and includes Fire OS, allowing it to browse and perform better on Amazon’s lower-powered devices.
Silk’s biggest advantage is how it handles browsing. Rather than loading everything on your local device, portions of every site you visit are sent to Amazon’s EC2 servers.
From here, the site is pre-rendered and then quickly sent to your device via Amazon’s enormous global network, leaving your Fire TV with less work to do.
