George Harrison Proved He Had Great Taste By Owning These 5 Cars
By DANIEL FEININGER
Aston Martin DB5
Bought in 1965, George Harrison's 1964 Aston Martin was the first luxury vehicle he owned. The car features a 286 horsepower Inline-six engine.
The DB5 can reach a top speed of 142 miles per hour and has a 0-60 acceleration time of 8.6 seconds. Harrison's particular Aston Martin was sold for £350,000 at an auction in 2011.
McLaren F1
Like other celebrities, Harrison bought a McLaren F1 in 1994. The car is iconic and mirrors a true Formula 1 vehicle as best as a production road automobile likely can.
The F1 brings 620 brake horsepower through a naturally aspirated 6.1L V12 engine. McLaren only made 100 F1s; Harrison's estate still owns his.
Austin Mini Cooper S
Harrison had a custom-made that would appear in the 1967 "Magical Mystery Tour" film. He gave the car to Eric Clapton, but Clapton eventually returned it.
The Mini was reportedly the carrier for George Harrison's first experience with LSD after he, John Lennon, and their wives were unknowingly given a dose in their tea by a friend.
