Every Major Motherboard Brand Ranked (From Worst to Best)
By DAVE MCQUILLING
10. Intel
Intel is one of the biggest names in computer hardware. It isn't known for its motherboards but rather its processors, RAM, and Wi-Fi cards.
They still make motherboards, but these are bare-bones pieces of kit designed for older systems and hardware rather than for modern set-ups.
9. Dell
While many might not think of Dell as a motherboard manufacturer, the tech company makes several of its own boards for its laptops.
They're intended to be replacements that can be used to replace the boards in their laptops should they become damaged.
8. HP
Known for its laptops and pre-built desktops, HP occasionally makes its own motherboards for those desktops.
HP motherboards for sale on Amazon are usually refurbished and designed for an older Intel chipset, probably meant for those who want to spend little to keep their old desktop.
7. EVGA
EVGA tends to have the same range of products as every other high-end manufacturer, offering everything from basic options to high-end products.
Recent reviews from sites like NewEgg indicate that quality control is becoming an issue; however, the company had some strong entries several years ago.
6. MAXSUN
MAXSUN is a brand of motherboards that's mostly unknown outside of China, though the company offers significantly cheaper products than its well-known competitors.
While it's an emerging brand in the West and its motherboards will likely meet its customers' needs, it's still not established enough to challenge the more prominent companies.
