Apple CarPlay Features Every Driver Should Be Using

Dashboard View
Using Dashboard view, you can display several apps, such as navigation, audio playback, and calendar information, side-by-side on the screen.
This prevents drivers' distraction by minimizing interaction. To activate Dashboard view, tap the box-like icon in the lower-left corner, next to the three horizontal bars.
Satellite View
If you use Google Maps for directions, you may already be enjoying one of its exclusive features: a satellite map view. You can display this view on CarPlay, too.
Simply open Google Maps in CarPlay, then hit the gear icon in the upper right corner of the display. This will bring up a settings menu, including the toggle for satellite map.
Rearrange Apps
You can change the locations of app icons on CarPlay, too, which is super helpful when your favorite app is buried two or three screens deep and you need it on top.
For this, open the CarPlay menu on your iPhone, choose your vehicle, and tap "Customize." Press and hold the three horizontal stripes to the right of the app you wish to move.
