Android Auto Guide: How To Add New Apps To Your System
By SHINAAYOMI ABIOYE
While Android Auto does come with a few apps by default, you may have wanted to add more or different ones. Luckily, adding apps to Android Auto is very simple.
First, you need to connect your Android phone to the infotainment platform using one of two methods. The first method is connecting your phone to your car’s USB port with a cable.
Tap the infotainment display’s Home button, select Smartphone connection, then “Connect Device.” Follow the directions, confirm the consent screen, and tap the Android Auto icon.
To pair it wirelessly, turn on Bluetooth, press and hold the car’s voice command button, wait for the new device on-screen prompt, and then follow the directions.
After you connect your phone, open the Settings app, type Android Auto into the search bar, open it, tap on Customize Launcher, and then select the apps you want to add.
