Shiny Heatran Pokemon GO Counters, Best CP, And Seeking Tips
Shiny Heatran is live in Pokemon GO and we've got the into you need to find the best ways to counter this fire stomper. The 100% IV Catch CP for this monster is between 2573 and 2681 (with weather boosts) and between 2058 and 2145 (without boosts), and it's got weaknesses to Fighting, Water, and Ground (X2!) If you're rolling against Heatran, you're going to be seeing one of the most awesome-looking Fire and Steel Types in the game – The Lava Dome Pokemon!
If you're going to fight against Heatran, you're going to need help. This is Pokemon #485 in Pokemon GO, Heatran: The Lava Dome Pokemon, the likes of which are basically impossible to beat in a solo style raid battle. Two trainers is exceedingly difficult, 3x trainers is OK, and you start to get the ideal amount of trainers in at around 4x.
The infographic you're seeing split above and below comes from the most-excellent AzureSolarStorm, part of the Sarasota Raid League – epic! You'll find data here from PokeBattler and Info Analysis by GTRBRAD, all via Reddit this week.
The image at the head of this article was illustrated by DREAMGATE-GAD at DeviantArt. "Heatran used Magma Storm!" Unforunate for Heatran and fortunate for you, Heatran does not have Magma Storm in Pokemon GO. Instead, Heatran is relegated to the fast moves Fire Spin and Bug Bite(?!), and charge moves Iron Head, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, and Stone Edge!
The normal-style Heatran is a sort of brownish orange, while the shiny Heatran is more of a bright red! You'll know for sure by looking into its eyes – A yellowy-orange is normal, a BRIGHT PINK/PURPLE is Shiny!
If you want to catch a Shiny Heatran, you're going to want to bring some friends. This is the best time to seek out a Shiny Heatran, during this launch-type event – after this, the Shiny Heatran will be far rarer forevermore. Unless there's another special Shiny Heatran event, of course.
You might as well catch every Heatran you encounter, mind you – the best monsters to fight this steel and fire Pokemon boss are mostly bosses themselves. Probably the most common is Rhydon or Golem. Heatran itself is not necessarily the best Fire Pokemon in the universe, but it's certainly worth catching for future top-level battle teams!
Amongst the best counters for this monster are Garchomp, Rhyperior, Groudon, Excadrill, and Golurk! Just make sure whatever you're bringing to the battle, it's got two Ground Type Moves! Mud Shot, Earthquake, Mud-Slap, and Drill Run are some of the best moves to bring to this particular fight!
Heatran will be active as a tier-5 Raid Boss in Pokemon GO from January 7, 2020, at 1PM PST until February 4, 2020, at 1PM PST. That's a pretty long time, actually – take your time! And stay warm – it's cold out there!
