Samsung is pushing into the smart car space with an aftermarket dongle dubbed the Samsung Connect Auto. Plugging into the OBD-II port which has been a mainstay of new cars since 1996, the LTE- and WiFi-equipped adapter gathers data directly from the car's own systems.

That can serve up feedback on how safely you're driving, whether you're being economical or not, and if there are any issues which might light up the "Check Engine" warning light.
The big money might well be in how Connect Auto affects your insurance premiums. Samsung is in discussion with several US insurers on usage-based plans, which would see drivers only charged based on their actual use of their vehicle.
