Sam's Club offers up smartphone app for shoppers
I shop in my local Sam's Club all the time. Anyone with kids will tell you that having a couple of them means you go through tons of snacks. A herd of 6-year-old girls can clean out way more juice boxes and little bags of Doritos than I can afford to buy at the local grocery store. The new app has been around for the iPhone since the summer and it is now available on Android and Blackberry smartphones as well.
The app is able to give members information about card renewals, store events, and allows them to load digital coupons directly to their membership card to use at checkout. The app will give alerts to the user to so they know when that membership is going to expire and when the eValue rewards on their cards are about to go bad.
The coolest part of the app for me is that it has maps of every Sam's Club location. That means rather than stumbling around the store looking for something specific, you can just check the map and go right to what you need. I am always looking for something in the store and having a hard time finding it so that feature alone is worth the download to me.
