Rumor - 120GB PS3 for Europe

At some point one has to wonder if Sony doesn't just have a stockpile of random hard drive sizes sitting around to put in the PS3. Once one size is almost gone, they just drop it and introduce a new PS3 SKU with a slightly larger drive. So far they have released and dropped the 20GB and 40GB models and introduced 60GB and 80GB SKUs. Now there is rumor that they'll introduce a 120GB version.

This was hinted by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president David Reeves during a recent interview. When talking about getting an 80GB PS3 in Europe he said that "the difference between 60 and 80GB is very small, we just feel that going up 20GB is not worth it," and "If you go to double it, it's worth it." That's exactly what I've been thinking all along, who really cares about an extra 20GB these days.

I have a feeling that his mentioning that doubling the hard drive size wasn't just an offhand remark. He likely wouldn't have brought it up if they weren't already thinking about a 120GB SKU. This would certainly be good for the European market, as they have thus far gotten the short end of the stick.
