Rocket League On Xbox One Gets A Release Date, Bonus Items

Regardless of what platform you choose to game on, you're always going to have to deal with timed exclusives for a different one. Timed exclusives are annoying, but they have a silver lining. While you're waiting on them, you can clear out some of your back catalog. Plus, when they do show up, sometimes they come with a little apology note.

We've known for a little bit that Rocket League was finally making its way to the Xbox One sometime this month. We know know that the exact date is next Wednesday, February 17. The original price of $19.99 seems to be holding true, but it does come with a few little surprises.

In addition to just getting the base game, Xbox One players will receive three pieces of DLC for free. These are Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run. That's roughly $12 of DLC, which nets you 6 extra cars, and a virtual crapload of customizations for your cars. While they don't come right out and say it, that seems like a nice little "thank you" to the Xbox One players for waiting so long for the game to come to their platform of choice.

There will be a few Xbox exclusives for the game, as well. You'll be getting two unique cars, which are based on Gears of War, and Sunset Overdrive. There will also be some Xbox-exclusive cosmetic items, such as the Overcharge Rocket Trail, which is in the image above.
