RIM Announces BlackBerry Trade-Up Program

Phone swapping must be all the rage right now. We just mentioned AT&T's brand new trade-in program in partnership with FlipSwap and now we bring you news that Research In Motion (RIM), father of BlackBerry, is announcing its own "trade-up" program. Depending on the model and condition, you could be getting up to $120 from RIM for trading in your old BlackBerry for a new one.

The BlackBerry trade up website offers two links—one for those with less than 5 BlackBerry smartphones to trade-in and the other for corporate or government accounts that have 6 or more. However, if you do have 6 or more for some odd reason, the whole process seems a bit more complicated as you'll have to call in for assistance.

The RIM website states that the trade-up program is only for a limited time. Also, it seems that they are currently offering an additional $30 promotional credit on top of your trade-in value.
