Quantum Glass radiator is cool and expensive

It doesn't get very cold at all here in Texas most of the winter months. If we get any snow, it's rare and temperatures generally stay above freezing most of the months. That means that we don't have all the heating stuff in the house here that most Northerners do like radiators. A new concept radiator has surfaced that is as much a piece of art as a heater. It's made of something called Quantum Glass.

That sounds complex and technically, it likely is very complex. All we really need to know to appreciate the beauty of this radiator is that the quantum glass heats up and radiates that heat when an electric current is passed through it. The key thing that allows this is a very thin metal coating inside the glass that emits the infrared rays when electricity is passed through.

If you are the minimalist sort, this is the radiator for you. It was designed by designers from 5.5 Designers and was developed for a French company called Saaza. The official name is Matières à Chaud, which means Hot Matters in English. The glass used is half an inch thick, and you can see it's decorated with sticks and such, which appear to be used to hold the glass in place. The radiators will be offered for sale at about $3,640 each.
