Porsche Macan S Gallery
Porsche's smallest crossover is arguably its most stylish, with the Macan borrowing cues from the 911 and the Cayenne and making them its own. In the shape of the Macan S, meanwhile, it strikes a balance between performance and price. Gone is the old twin-turbo V6 of the previous model, replaced with a single-turbo 3.0-liter V6.
Rather than sacrificing power, though, the new Macan S is actually up compared to its predecessor. 348 hp and 352 lb-ft of torque arrive more rapidly than the older compact SUV's lower numbers; with the Sport Chrono Package it means 0-60 arrives in 4.9 seconds. Porsche pairs it with a 7-speed PDK transmission and all-wheel drive as standard.
Inside, the cabin can be a somewhat minimalistic affair unless you loosen your restraint and dip into the options bucket. Still, it's spacious for four adults, though rival crossovers have more rear headroom and cargo space. What they don't have, though, is the driving experience that the Macan S offers.
