Pokemon Sun And Moon Trailer Reveals Version-Exclusive Monsters
As with all of the Pokemon games that came before them, Pokemon Sun and Moon will come with a number of new Pokemon that will be exclusive to one version or the other. A freshly-landed trailer for Sun and Moon is detailing just a few of these version exclusives, giving us an early glimpse at the Pokemon you'll be able to find in your preferred version.
First up is Passimian, a Fighting-type Pokemon that will be exclusive to Sun. Passimian uses a new ability called Receiver, which allows it to receive the ability of a fainted ally Pokemon. As we can see in the trailer, that can be used to great effect depending on the situation, though it seems like it'll have limited use outside of competitive battles.
Then we come to Oranguru, a Normal/Psychic dual-type that will only be found in Moon. Oranguru has an exclusive move called Instruct rather than an exclusive ability, and it allows him to force its target to use the move it previously used again. Last up are two evolutions for Rockruff: Lycanroc (Midday Form) and Lycanroc (Midnight Form), each exclusive to Sun and Moon respectively. Lycanroc's Midday Form comes with a special move called Accelerock, which always goes first, while Lycanroc (Midnight Form) becomes more excited depending on the strength of its opponent.
Two new Z-Moves exclusive to Pikachu and Eevee were also revealed in the trailer. Pikachu's is named Catastropika, and has been revealed to be the electric rodent's most powerful move. Meanwhile, Eevee's Extreme Evoboost isn't a traditional attack, but rather one that calls on the power of all of Eevee's evolved forms to boost its Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed stats by two stages each.
The trailer shows off the options players will have for character customization in Sun and Moon before ending with a glimpse of the games' new Refresh system. Similar to Pokemon Amie, Pokemon Refresh will allow players to interact with their Pokemon after a battle, cleaning them up and curing status effects they obtained during the fight. Using Pokemon Refresh can bestow in-battle benefits, causing Pokemon to dodge attacks from their opponents or withstand attacks that would otherwise make them faint.
Pokemon Sun and Moon will be launching for the Nintendo 3DS on November 18.
