Pokemon GO Battle League: 5 Essential Details For You To Win
Today we're taking a peek at the first round of details about the upcoming Pokemon GO Battle League Season 0 (preseason), starting on Monday, February 10, 2020. This is just ONE PART of the roll-out of this system – four dates make this first season and "preseason" clear. Pokemon GO Battle League is a triathlon-style player vs. player Pokemon battle contest in which Pokemon GO gamers will be able to battle other real people in Pokemon battles online – neat!
5. The roll-out begins!
The system began to roll out on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, after a brief pause in action earlier in the week. This system will begin a preseason set of battles starting this week as indicated by the Pokemon GO official Twitter account – shown below!
Above you'll see the first sign of roll-out earlier in the day on January 28. Below you'll see the late afternoon post by the official Pokemon GO Twitter account which indicates that they've had a bit of a pause.
Trainers, to ensure a smooth feature launch and prevent server issues, we have temporarily paused the rollout of GO Battle League. We will provide updates as soon as we are able.

4. Preseason and Season 1 Start Times
The first preseason session will begin in waves – you might see your ability to play in a league match before your friends. This preseason will allow you to practice, but won't count for the actual start of Season 1.
UPDATE: A bit of a change in detail here – the first part of Season 1 begins NOW, ASAP, January 29th, 2020 as soon as the issues mentioned above are rectified. As such, Season 0 (preseason) of Pokemon GO Battle League begins with Great League, starting January 29th (or whenever it's actually released by Niantic).
The schedule as of January 29th is still officially suggesting that Ultra League will begin on Monday, February 10, 2020, at 1PM PST (Pacific Standard Time). Master League begins on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 1PM PST – and Niantic's suggested that they'll send "more details on when the preseason will end and Season 1 will begin" soon.
3. Pikachu Libre revealed!
The first information shared by Niantic on winning Pokemon GO Battle League includes the following most awesome Pokemon in the entire world: Pikachu Libre! As we predicted in December of 2019, it's time to see this monster take flight with a boot to the head!
2. Premium or Basic
You'll see "Basic" and "Premium" versions of this system in play. Basic is the free way to play, Premium will cost you cash. "The Premium Battle Pass will allow you to receive better rewards each time you win, and it will also lower the number of wins needed to earn certain Pokémon encounters."
You'll get better rewards and rewards quicker, but you will NOT get better rank or rating in the Pokemon GO Battle League system with Premium.
1. You still need to physically move
Pokemon GO Battle League enables users to battle other users around the world through Pokemon GO with an internet connection. This does NOT mean that Pokemon GO just turned into a stay-at-home game. To enter the Pokemon GO Battle League, you must walk! (Or at least find a way to move.)
You must walk 5km to enter a Pokemon GO Battle League session – or you can pay Pokecoins to buy "Battle Now" to enter the league without walking the full distance. The cost of this system is on a sliding scale – "the cost decreases as you get closer to the five-kilometer goal." And you must walk at least 2km no matter what – that's the absolute minimum. See you there!
