PGA Tour free livestream golf coverage arrives on Facebook this week

PGA Tour has announced a partnership with Facebook that will result in more than 60 hours of live coverage being streamed on Facebook Watch, the social network's video platform. Exclusive live Saturday and Sunday coverage will be made available on Facebook Watch, where the public can watch it for free. The streams will pull content from a total of eight tournaments ahead of the FedExCup Playoffs.

The streams will be provided to viewers in the United States, where they'll get coverage said to be "uniquely" produced for the Facebook Watch platform. Viewers will follow a pair of featured groups from the time they tee off starting in the third rounds. It all starts on June 23 at the start of the Travelers Championship.

Talking about the agreement is PGA Tour's VP of Media Business Development Chris Wandell, who said:

We are thrilled to add Facebook to an already impressive lineup of global digital and broadcast partners. The PGA TOUR has put a premium on distributing exclusive content on emerging media platforms with a goal of reaching new and diverse audiences.

Viewers will be able to tune in to the coverage starting at 8:30AM ET / 5:30AM PT on weekends during the events. In addition, PGA Tour says non-exclusive PGA Tour Live Featured Holes coverage is also going to be streamed globally.

Live coverage not enough? PGA also says there will be on-demand videos on a variety of subjects, including recaps and highlights. These, too, will be available in the US on Facebook Watch; you can find it all under the PGA Tour Live Facebook Page.
