Panasonic Blu-Ray Burner Technology Capable Of Writing At 4X

Panasonic announced that it had successfully developed the first Blu-Ray burner that writes dual-layer disc at 4X. The drive is capable of burning a full 50GB disc in 46 minutes and single-layer disc in around 23 minutes.

Single-layer media that capable of burning at 4X will be available on July 25th while the dual-layer media will be available on September 25th. Panasonic has not announce the availability of the 4X burner yet.
