Captain Richard Levy
Captain Richard Levy's 40-year career in aviation took him to every corner of the globe – from North America, Latin America, and Europe, to India, Kuwait, and Russia, as well as China, South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. Beginning his aviation journey at 14, he achieved numerous FAA certifications as a young adult. After graduating from college, he flew C-130 transport aircraft for the United States Air Force Reserves. Some highlights from his aviation career include flying over East and West Germany during the depths of the Cold War, well before the Berlin Wall fell; participating in the initial flight from the United States into the new Munich, Germany, airport; and overhearing communications from a major European airliner as it was actively being hijacked. Post-retirement, he continues instructing and providing expert testimony in aviation litigation.
Laine Mears
Laine Mears is the SmartState Endowed Chair of Automotive Manufacturing and head of the Automotive Engineering Department at Clemson University. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, and is the recipient of numerous awards related to scientific research. Dr. Mears was recognized in 2020 by SME Smart Manufacturing Magazine as one of the "20 Most Influential Professors in Smart Manufacturing." Dr. Mears's experience spans over 10 years in industry, having held positions with automotive suppliers in both engineering and management roles. Dr. Mears has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech (1993) and M.S. (2001) and Ph.D. (2006) degrees in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech.

He was previously CTO/Founder at Wavefront (acquired by VMware) and a Senior Engineer at Google where he helped develop the back-end for all financial processing of Google ad revenue. He previously served as the Manager of Business Operations Strategy at PayPal where he defined requirements and helped select the financial vendors for tens of billions of dollars in annual transactions. He also launched eBay's private-label credit line in association with GE Financial.
