OPPO Neo 7 Announced, 5-Inch Display With Snapdragon 410 Processor
Android device manufacturer Oppo has just debuted its latest smartphone today, the Neo 7. As the successor to the Neo 5 and Neo 5s, which were released earlier this year, the Neo 7 continues the line's intentions of being an entry-level Android device. Sorry, Android flagship fans, you won't find much interesting for you here. Everyone else, however, has a new option when it comes to an affordable 5-inch Android-powered phone.
Behind that 5-inch screen, the Neo 7 runs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, with just 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. Fortunately there is a slot for a microSD card, along with dual-SIM card support and a 2,420mAh battery.
Rounding the hardware out is a rear 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, while the front camera has 5-megapixels with the option to use the screen as a flash. The most disappointing spec, however, is the display's 960×540 pixel resolution.
The Oppo Neo 7 will ship running the company's Color OS 2.1, which is based on Android Lollipop. Design wise, the phone features a glossy, smooth back, complete with rounded corners. Black with gray trim or white with gold are the two color options, with a weight of 147 grams, and dimensions measuring 142.7 x 71.7 x 7.55mm.
No pricing details have been released yet, but Oppo does mention there will be a US version available, as well as a standard international model.
