NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 GPU For HTPCs Gets Official

NVIDIA has officially outed their latest GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 430, a Fermi chip targeted at HTPCs.  The new GT 430 promises 1.5x the gaming performance of previous-gen chips, together with full 3D and 1080p HD video support, HDMI 1.4a connectivity and 24-bit multi-channel audio up to 192KHz (along with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD audio bit streaming).

There's also a dedicated video processing engine, which NVIDIA reckons will reduce heat output from the card; handy if you're slotting it into a low-profile HTPC case.  There's also PhysX support.

NVIDIA has signed up the usual cohort of video card manufacturers – including ASL, ASUS, Colorful, ECS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, Jetway, KFA2, Leadtek, MSI, Palit, Point of View, PNY, Sparkle and Zotac – to produce cards based on the GT 430.  We've already seen the Club 3D card yesterday.
