Nintendo Wii U Three Launch Games Teased On Facebook
As the time before E3 continues to dwindle down, Nintendo is getting the hype gears churning. For the company, next month's trade show will be all about proving the Wii U's power to compete against big boys Sony and Microsoft. Last year, it was tech demos, this year, it will be games. Oh, and Nintendo better also harp on the fact that the Wii U is coming out this year, if it hopes to take any immediate excitement from its competitors.
A post on the official Wii U Facebook page was just published, stating, "Guess what the initial game releases will be for Nintendo's new home console, Wii U? Soon we'll scratch off to reveal the names!" The message is followed by three long gray boxes. So, in other words, Nintendo is most likely going to announce no fewer than three launch titles for the Wii U at E3. If it wants the Wii U launch to be a success, they better be solid franchise titles.
If Nintendo learned anything from the 3DS launch (aside from the fact that holding the official event in winter in freezing New York City), hopefully it learned that for a platform release to be successful, it needs to surround it with games that people really want. So we're expecting to see a Mario game, a Zelda game, a Pokemon game – at least one of those would be a nice change from the 3DS. Nintendo's major E3 announcements will happen next Tuesday starting at 12 PM Eastern Time.
