Nintendo Switch Indie Highlights: All Game Reveals And Release Dates

Earlier today, Nintendo of Europe debuted a new Indie Highlights presentation for Nintendo Switch. The nearly 17-minute long video details a number of new indie games heading to the Nintendo Switch throughout 2019. If you didn't have a chance to watch it, though, we've embedded it here, along with a list of all of the games that were announced today and their respective release dates (or release windows, in the case of many of them).

Unquestionably, the biggest announcement of the day was that of Wargroove's release date. Switch owners have been waiting years for Wargroove to get a release, and today, Nintendo and Chucklefish announced that it'll be dropping next week. Wargroove is set to go live on February 1, so we'll soon have the chance to see if this is the spiritual successor to the Advance Wars we're all hoping it is.

With all of the games tallied up, the full list of announcements seems somewhat short for a video that clocks in at more than 16 minutes long. However, we saw trailers for each game previewed in the video, so we learn a decent amount about each title. You can watch the full presentation above or – if you're pressed for time – check out the list of announcements below:

Wargroove – February 1, 2019

Double Kick Heroes – Summer 2019

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong – Now available

Forager – Coming soon

Goat Simulator: The GOATY – Now available

Inmost – 2019

Unruly Heroes – Now available

CrossCode – 2019

SteamWorld Quest – 2019

While each game previewed by Nintendo looks good, there are certainly a few standouts. SteamWorld Quest is the latest title in Image and Form Games' long-running SteamWorld series, and in an interesting twist, it appears to be a card-based battle game. CrossCode is another that's likely to get Switch owners excited, as it's found a lot of success on PC.

Unfortunately, many of these games didn't get solid release dates, with their developers mostly choosing instead to give us vague "2019" release windows. Then again, a few of them are launching on the Switch eShop today, which sort of balances things out. Are you looking forward to any of these titles?
