Nikon D7200 DSLR Has 24.2MP CMOS Sensor And EXPEED 4 Image Processing
Nikon has rolled out a new DSLR camera aimed at photographers who want a lightweight camera that has powerful image taking capability. The camera is a DX-format unit with a 24.2MP CMOS sensor that has no optical low pass filter. Nikon equips the camera with the EXPEED 4 image processing system to give it fast performance and the ability to capture sharp, detailed images and HD video.
Nikon also gave the camera increased buffer capacity compared to the older D7100. The D7200 also gets new Picture Controls and Nikon Snapbridge support to share images directly from the camera to a smartphone or tablet via WiFi. NFC capability makes it easy to pair the camera to a mobile device.
The ISO range of the D7200 is 100-25600 and the camera is compatible with NIKKKOR lenses and DSLR accessories. One of the big improvements in the D7200 compared to the D7100 it replaces is faster image processing. Nikon says that the D7200 is 30% faster than the older D7100.
The higher buffer capacity of the new camera allows it to take 27 12-bit compressed shots or 100 JPEG frames. The camera can shoot at 6 fps continuously or up to 7 fps in 1.3x crop mode. Full HD video recording at 30/25/24p is supproted. The D7200 will launch in early April with the body only selling for $1199.95 and the body with an AF-S DX 18-140mm lens for $1699.95.
