Navisurfer II Is A Car PC That Fits In A Single DIN Slot

I've seen double DIN car computers, I've seen car computer that look like amps and are meant to be stored under your seat and then wired up to a single DIN touchscreen, but this is the first all-in-one single DIN car PC I've ever seen. In case you were wondering, that's a 7-inch flip out color touchscreen LCD with an 800x480 resolution, that's standard definition for those not in the know.

You can tilt the screen to the left or right or even up/down to get the best viewing experience. There are 3 models whose major differentiation is hard drive size, they are 40GB, 80GB, and 120GB.

The 40 and 80 have 1.3MHz processors and 256MB of RAM, the 120 ups the RAM to a half gigabyte but drops the processor down to 1GHz for some strange reason. They also have a list of accessories they can sell you along with your unit to add some functionality, they are as follows: Bluetooth USB dongle, DVB-T TV Tuner, GPRS/GSM/CDMA USB modem, WiFi USB modem, External CD/DVD drive, USB GPS Receiver, OBDII Vehicle Diagnostics, Digital Media Remote, Wireless Keyboard with touchpad, 4-port USB hub, and a SD/CF USB card reader.

The device itself comes without an OS pre-installed, however there are several amazing customized CarPC OS's available that are Linux or Windows based, you just have to pick one and install it. This is a fairly basic car PC, but it has everything built in to connect in place of your old car stereo, and can handle the rough and harsh power requirements for putting a computer in a car, and it will automatically connect to your car's stereo. For the $578-$656 price tag, and the fact that any additional features you desire can be added via USB, this isn't a bad deal at all.
