Engine options include a 102hp 1.5L 3-cylinder, a 1.5L 3-cylinder making 136hp, and a 192hp four-cylinder. All engines are offered with a 6-speed manual as standard and a 7-speed Steptronic with the double-clutch as an option.

The Mini Sidewalk is notable for its exterior paintwork along with the cool soft-top design that weaves arrows into the top, and interior features. The exclusive paint color is seen in the images here and is called Deep Laguna metallic. Several other paint colors are available for the car.

Mini says that the convertible top can be opened or closed in 18 seconds in near silence. The wheels are 17-inch light-alloy units in a Scissor Spoke 2-tone design. Mini also fits the car with side indicator bezels, called side scuttles, that have the Sidewalk model designation.

Special interior touches include aluminum door sills with "sidewalk" lettering. The seats are Mini Yours Leather Lounge Sidewalk variants. They have anthracite-colored leather surfaces with contrasting seams in Petrol and Energetic Yellow. The braided piping is in Petrol, and doormats have matching dark petrol surrounds and energetic yellow seams. The elliptical door trim is in Petrol color.

A sports steering wheel has the Sidewalk logo on the bottom. The car can be fitted with the Sidewalk Chili equipment package with LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and the interior lighting package. Automatic AC, height-adjustable front passenger seat and a storage package is offered. The car will be offered worldwide.
