The Hummer may no longer be in production, but that hasn't stopped one American company hoping to bring back the ostentatious SUV. Mil-Spec Automotive isn't just trying to recreate the original Hummer H1, mind. It's attempting to give it a wholesale rebirth, polishing away the flaws of the original.

So, a donor H1 gets stripped down to little more than the body, and then MSA rebuilds from there. A new, aircraft-grade aluminum body is joined by a Duramax 6.6-liter LBZ V8 turbodiesel, delivering 500 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft. of torque. If you need more, the automaker will tune it up even further for you.

Inside, the old uncomfortable cabin has been replaced with plush leather and a new dashboard made out of aluminum. The MSA Launch Edition will offer plenty of customization potential, too, though whatever you want you'll need deep pockets. Pricing kicks off at $218,499.
