Microsoft Surface Go 2 Gallery
Microsoft's second-generation affordable tablet keeps what pleased reviewers and adds a larger display and more processing power. The Surface Go 2 still has the notepad-sized magnesium body and useful kick-stand, but on the front there's a slightly larger 10.5-inch touchscreen. That's not a huge increase over the first-gen's 10-inches, but every little helps.
Inside, there's a choice of Pentium or Intel Core m3 processors, with up to 128GB of SSD storage. A Type Cover keyboard is optional, available in four colors; that attaches magnetically to the bottom edge. In the process, it turns the Surface Go 2 into a mini laptop, complete with Windows 10 in S Mode.
Microsoft will offer both WiFi-only and WiFi+LTE Advanced versions of the tablet, the latter with a SIM slot on the side for getting online. There's also eSIM support, for carriers that offer the card-less technology. Pricing kicks off from $399.99 for an education-only model, while the cheapest Core m3 Surface Go 2 will be $499.99, and the most affordable model with LTE starts at $779.99.
