Microsoft Selling Three HTC Windows Phones For 1 Cent
In preparation for its Windows Phone 7.1 Mango update, Microsoft is trying to boost the numbers in Windows Phone users by starting a sales promotion for three of its high-end handsets. The company is now offering the HTC HD7, HTC Arrive, and the HTC Trophy each for only one cent with a new two-year service agreement plus data plan.
Microsoft Windows Phone 7 adoption has thus far been disappointing, with a reportedly dismal sales figure, although 1.6 million units were estimated to have shipped in Q1 2011. The recent Mango update shows many promising new features and has on board new manufacturers along with full support from Nokia hardware that should hit the market by early next year.
The three HTC smartphones for the promotion normally sell for $150 to $200 with a two-year service agreement. For more details on the handsets you can check out our reviews for the HTC HD7 and the HTC Arrive. We also have an unboxing and hands-on of the HTC Trophy. The one-cent offer for these phones is available through the Microsoft online store and ends on July 2.
