Mass Effect Andromeda Delayed Because Reasons
The next MASS EFFECT game will be coming later than you expected – or later than you were last told, anyway. The folks behind the game have decided they need more time to develop. Developers gonna develop, and gamers gonna wait. Until then, they've provided a few points on what they're doing to make the game better than it hypothetically would have been had they released said game on time.
Last we heard, this game was coming in the holiday season of 2016. Now it's been delayed.
Delayed until next year. The good news is, the "holiday season", as it's called, is somewhere in the last three months of the year. Saying this game is coming out next year is a bit of a misleading statement. They've suggested that the game is coming in early 2017. That could be January. Will it be January? Probably not. But it could be.
According to Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare, the following three elements will be reasons why the game will be coming later than what was expected earlier.
1. More Freedom
2. New Uncharted Worlds
3. The Next Great Mass Effect Experience
You'll control "where you'll go, how you'll get there, and how you'll play." That we're pretty excited about. Games where we can just do nothing at all, if we want – that's the future, after all.
The New Uncharted Worlds bit means this Mass Effect won't be relegated to the Milky Way – Andromeda is indeed where the game will take place. Strange stuff will happen there.
This game is being built on the Frostbite engine, which meant it'll look fantastic. It's also the "first Mass Effect game for today's consoles" – which means... exactly what it says.
"As we've been playing the game at the studio recently, it's showing us that we're taking the game in the right direction." said Flynn.
"But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that's our commitment from all of us to all of you."
More info will be revealed at EA PLAY on the 12th of June, 2016.
