Marvel's Spider-Man faces a lot of famous foes in new E3 2018 trailer

Marvel's Spider-Man was perhaps the most anticipated PS4 exclusive heading into E3 2018 (though it certainly faces some stiff competition from The Last of Us Part 2), and Sony delivered quite the impressive trailer during its showcase. While previous trailers have shown us Spider-Man swinging around Manhattan and going one-on-one with Mister Negative, this latest trailer throws many of Spider-Man's notable foes at him at the same time.

The trailer, which features a decent dose of gameplay, shows Spider-Man and Wraith arriving at The Raft just as Electro breaks many of Spider-Man's enemies out of their cells. In addition to run-of-the-mill goons, Spider-Man winds up facing off against supervillians like Rhino, Scorpion, and Vulture as he attempts to stop the break out. At one point, Mr. Negative joins the fray and Spider-Man is forced to fight all five foes at the same time.

The trailer suggests that someone has been outfitting these supervillians with new technology, but we're not told who that is. The trailer ends on a cliffhanger as well, with someone appearing off-screen just as those five bad guys seem to be getting the better of Spider-Man. If you want to know who that person is, it looks like you're going to have to play the game.

Of the four titles Sony put major focus on during its E3 2018 presentation tonight, Marvel's Spider-Man is the closest to release. It'll be arriving on September 7, 2018, complete with a handful of special editions for you to choose from.
