Lotus Evija Gallery
A new hypercar is always something worth noting, but when it's from a storied brand like Lotus more than a few heads will turn. The Lotus Evija is the automaker's first model to be developed under new owners Geely, and it's no half-measure. A 2,000 PS fully-electric performance car, it promises ridiculous levels of speed.
0-62 mph comes in under three seconds, Lotus says, and the top speed will be north of 200 mph. Range, though, should still be healthy: the estimate is around 250 miles. With 800 kW charger support, a full recharge could take as little as nine minutes.
Outside, the dramatic design has features like twin Venturi tunnels over the rear wheels, and fully digital rear-view cameras. Inside, a minimalistic cabin can be outfitted with racing harnesses, to take full advantage of the torque vectoring at the track. Not bad, but then again the $2.15m pre-tax price tag is hardly conservative.
