Life-size Gundam statue under construction in Japan
Gundam is crazy popular around the world, but especially so in Japan. We have already talked before about the full-scale replica that was constructed in Japan that was lying down. An even cooler Gundam statue is being built in Shizuoka, Japan right now.

The statue will be a life-size 18-meter tall replica and will stand vertically and wield a Beam Saber. The statue is being built bear JR Higashishizuoka Station to mark the 30th anniversary of the launch of the plastic model kits.
Apparently, the site for the project has already been blessed by Shinto priests. The only way Gundam fans could be more excited would be if the next model actually walks around.
