Lenovo Vibe Z3 Pro Leak Reveals Some Juicy Specs

It's been barely a year since Lenovo put out the Vibe Z2 Pro but it seems that it already has a successor in the works and ready for a debut next month. The Vibe Z3 Pro, as the name might suggest, would be the Chinese OEM's high-end contender for this year, at least based on these leaked specs. Suffice it to say, the Vibe Z3 Pro could very well go head to head with upcoming flagships, presuming it gets a wider distribution and demand to match that of those big players.

This Lenovo flagship is said to be powered by the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810. If true, it would be joining LG's G Flex 2 and Xiaomi's Mi Note Pro in being one of the earliest to don the troubled chip. Curiously, Lenovo wasn't one of those who came to Qualcomm's aid in voicing out support for the Snapdragon 810, but its new subsidiary Motorola was fully there. That processor will be aided by 4 GB of RAM, one of the few to have this high amount. Internal storage is set to 64 GB, hopefully still with a microSD card expansion slot.

The display will be at 5.5-inches, which might at first seem like a step down from the Vibe Z2 Pro's 6 inches. But with the same QHD resolution, however, that means the Vibe Z3 Pro will have a higher pixel density than its predecessor. What's more, 5.5 inches seems to be the sweet spot that some users prefer without completely going over to the phablet side. Based on the leaked photos, the Vibe Z3 Pro looks quite long, though.

The 16 megapixel rear camera might disappoint some at first glance, but Lenovo seemingly has a few tricks up its sleeves. That sensor will come with Optical Image Stabilization and laser focusing, a feature popularized by the LG G3. In addition, the LED flash is said actually be made up of three differently colored LED lights. That's one LED more than your usual dual LED flash. The phone will also come with a dedicated camera shutter button, which is a rarity these days.

Design-wise, the Vibe Z3 Pro flaunts the same "serious business" look that Lenovo's phones usually exude, with sharp chamfered edges and hints of metal here and there. The smartphone is rumored to make its public appearance at MWC 2015 in March, where it will vie for the spotlight against the Samsung Galaxy S6 and possibly the HTC One M9.
